Wishcasting Wednesday

We catch on to the truth and technique
of expectation in those rare moments
when we are stirred by an awareness of a guidance
seemingly higher and greater than our own,
when for a little while we are taken over by a force
and
an intelligence above and beyond those commonly felt.
Confident and free,
filled with wonder and ready acceptance,
we permit ourselves to be taken over by our unquestioning self.

What guidance do you wish for?

*Spiritual *
I have been having a dry spell for some time now...
unable to just let go.

Unable to free myself from all the
distractions
excuses
anger
that come between me and God.
***
I've grown tired of the storm that lives in my soul.
I am longing to nourish my faith.

I wish...
To toss the restlessness away.
I wish...
To not carry such a heavy burden...
for my soul to be free to take flight.
I wish...
For the empty space, that feels like a cold draft...
to be filled with grace.
I wish...
To have real peace of mind.
I wish...
To free my heart from daily worries...
to live simple...
give more of myself...
and
expect less.

I long to have... I struggle on... I wish for...
The love and passion my faith once held
and
quenched my soul, that no longer was thirsty!

Have a wishful Wednesday!

  1. Recently I have found myself longing for worship. Longing for a spiritual community who "gets" me. I feel your wish, deeply, April.

As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you also....

Thank you for wishing alongside me!

  2. As Julie has pointed out there is a "spiritual" longing in each of us the cries out for connection. I believe it is how we are made. My friend Susan Beaver says that the only thing G-d proclaimed as "not good" in the Creation story is "loneliness". If you recall Genesis re-read it and re-mind yourself of this fact. We need each other. That is why our Wishcasting Tribe is uber-important. As you wish for yourself...connection, spiritual community...so i join in reverently, fervently in wishing for you also...may it be so for all who hear this whisper...

  4. The beautiful way you express yourself moves me every time I visit your blog. You are a poet as well as an artist.

It is a lonely space when faith and passion seem inaccessible. As you wish for yourself April, I too lovingly wish for you.

  6. April,
I've been absent from WW for a while. I've missed visiting you on your blog. "I have been having a dry spell for some time now...
    unable to just let go.

Unable to free myself from all the
    distractions
    excuses
    anger
that come between me and God." Sometimes, we have to wait. Most other times, we find it through meditation. I find it when writing the Morning Pages. As you wish for yourself, I wish for you also!

  10. I can definitely relate to your wishes. I have definite spiritual beliefs that I am very comfortable with, but I long for more. For relationship. For spiritual practice. As April wishes for herself, so do I lovingly wish for her also.

  12. A poignant, powerful wish. One I know that God wants answered just as much as you do...Here's to your quick reconnection with Spirit, in a way that nourishes and sustains you. (I would suggest that the anger towards God is a huge interference...Having been there, done that - I know how painful it can be...)

As you wish for yourself, I wish for you as well...

  14. Such an intense choice made from the point where you don´t want to continue as you are.
As April wishes for herself, so I wish for her also.

  15. Wow! loved reading your post . I feel ya . I had a dry spell of connecting with god/universe , my higher self , it was even hard to meditate & stay connected sometimes . I know those feelings , they confuse you so all these different feelings come through like the anger , sadness , madness .But! just as quick as all those feeling come through our heads we only need to bring ourselves back into the light , which is a test to do , but it can be done , cuz when your happy thats when you know you got back. : )

As you wish for yourself, I wish for you also.
