29 Faces In May...

The whole world as we experience it
VISUALLY.
Comes to us through the
MYSTIC
realm of color.

~ HANS HOFMANN ~

Face #4

I definitely stretched far and wide with these colors!

As an artist I feel it is important to push yourself, grow,
and explore more; by using a variety of materials, techniques, and styles.

Sketch #5- working on a smaller scale...

This face is being created using colored pencils.
Then applied to a 4" x 4" canvas (mini)

Happy Saturday!

  1. The colors you used in Face 4 are awesome. I get stuck with my color choices, same old ones, but as someone said, life is using the whole box of crayons!

  5. I love the vibrancy of your first face and your braveness (is that a word?) in trying out such fabulous colours. Your second piece, such a contrast, looks wonderful too - fabulous drawing.

  8. oh April, this face #4 turned out to be beautiful!! When i first saw the bright yellow, my first thought was 'now that's brave!' but then when i saw that gorgeous background coupled with those wonderful flowers and the black & white combo - absolutely perfect! You went with your gut (once again), pushed yourself out of your comfort zone and look where it took you. To a magical place... LOVE it. Your background is awesome. xoxo

  9. Whoh. I would be afraid to use so much contrast with the colors but it turned out very pretty! I believe you took a risk.. and it was worth it. The purple flowers are eye catchers. :)
