Cards Created To Inspire...

:: an inspirational deck ::
Think for a moment...
in your hands you hold a deck, created by the heart of imagination.
 Each card represents a visual expression of inspiration
and remind us of our passion to be creative.
To have the courage to draw outside the lines
and just make art!
These deck of inspirational cards are making there way to a few incredible artists,
 who were willing to participate in my trade.
I am very excited and look forward to sharing with you
my complete "inspirational deck".
I will be honoring the participates with photos and links to follow.
I CAN NOT WAIT TO CELEBRATE!

Painting A Thought...

:: look deep ::
watercolor and acrylic ink
We all have that burning question...
 what happens if we lose somebody we love?
There is no comparison, to the degree, of someones' loss.
 Perhaps one might wonder...
What fear was going on. What secrets do they hold. What kept them in the dark.
We wonder if only we could reach out,
touch them, hold their hand, look them in their eyes...
BEEN THERE.

The Big Buzz In Blogland- what others are excited about!

Word is... no sewing. no binding.
If you got duct tape and a rubber band, you can make a journal!

 As I visit some of my favorite blogs, I've noticed a theme here.
They are getting excited over duct tape and creating these incredible journals.
Inspired by Diana Trout.
Learn how to create your very own here.
I will admit...these are fast, fun, and easy to create.

Inspired to create your very own...?

Don't stop here, check out these artists' duct tape journals too!

A Charcoal Incident...

:: vintage BINGO card ::
What I went to grab for, was my graphite pencil... ended up being charcoal instead.
Some incidents are meant to be!
 What is character but the determination of incident?
What is incident but the illustration of character?

Carving Out Humanity

:: the sacred heart ::
I grabbed some thin craft foam and carved this drawing directly onto it.
Using a pencil for the illustration and a photo for my example.
Then I cut it out and mounted it onto this tiny block of wood.
A journal spread- my token of humanity...
The Sacred Heart
is one of the most widely practiced and well-known devotions.
This devotion is predominantly used in the Catholic Church.
It emphasizes on love, compassion, and humanity.

I craved out this foam stamp, as a little reminder to myself...
that love and compassion are necessary, if you wish to survive life's little challenges!

Tidbits of my day...

:: my tiny portions of collage ::
Still out of sorts from the flare-up, but I am making my way back.
This is when I feel most comfortable creating on a smaller scale.
Creating a few smaller piece from my stash of scraps... always gets me back on track.
My personal "get-well" therapy.
I know...
we all have torn book pages piled, somewhere in our art space.
 What do I like to do with my old book pages?
Splash watercolor and inks onto them.
This add a personal touch, when creating collage elements.
Great "tip-in" page for an art journal too!
It is the simple steps forward... that lift us up and out from going under.
