Mail Art

Project in process- mail art exchange
I couldn't wait to get started on these little pieces of art!
***
It does not take much... to get me started!
(corrugated cardboard)

The creation of something new is not accomplished by
the intellect
but, by the play instinct acting from inner necessity.
The creative mind plays with objects it loves.
~ Carl Jung

I cut the cardboard into 4x4 squares.
Added masking tape and acrylic paints.
what fun I am having today...
These will be my background colors
for the collage artwork I will be applying!

I thought...
I should create colorful envelopes.

Just can not think of... any better way to mail out my artwork!

Now...
I am ready to add more texture and collage to
each of the pieces.
(will post completed artwork)

Enjoy your Tuesday!!

1-2-3 What is inspiring to me?!

Thought I would share with you...
what inspires me
***

AREN'T WE ALL A LITTLE CURIOUS...
 TO WHAT INSPIRES EACH OTHER?
***
Where does that "hidden" spark of creativity come from...?
You know the one I am talking about!
When we have hit a dry spell...
When it is quiet, and we ask our self... now what to make?
When we have gathered up all our resources, yet still...
"not feeling it."
***
We are not always surrounded by other creative souls.
We spend hours alone in our creative space.
Yet, it will hit you...
like a brick wall!
You suddenly realize, you are just going through the motions.
 You need something more...
something that is going to give you that...
"Aha!!"
moment.
***

These are a few of the resources I turn to.

#1
BOOKS

I simply adore books!!
No doubt about it.
***

I had ordered these from Amazon.
Had read good things about each of these books,
so I thought I would explore them for myself.

They arrived on Saturday.
Let me tell you...
I am super excited to dive into these!!
I will keep you posted, as I go through them.

I have not finished this one yet.
(posted previously)

This is such a delightful book!
The author/artist, Corey Moortgat explains
how to achieve your on style of collage art through your
own person life experiences. In exchange, this is what creates
your own unique style towards your collage work.

#2
MAIL ART
There is nothing
more delightful
than receiving a piece of art created by someone!!
In the mail, even better.
***

By joining swaps and participating in sending out mail art
is very important!
I get to connect on a real personal level.
Make new friends along the way.
For me... it creates a more realistic value to,
why I love to make art.
The whole experience of,
seeing, holding, and touching what someone else has created...
always inspires me!
***

Here are 2 newly discovered
Call for
MAIL ART
exchange
which I will be delightfully participating in!

#3
VIDEOS
Exploring visually, other artist's playroom
and
watching them create using their wonderful techniques...
can be very motivating!
Inspiring... indeed!

Tell me... what inspires you?

Wishcasting Wednesday

We catch on to the truth and technique
of expectation in those rare moments
when we are stirred by an awareness of a guidance
seemingly higher and greater than our own,
when for a little while we are taken over by a force
and
an intelligence above and beyond those commonly felt.
Confident and free,
filled with wonder and ready acceptance,
we permit ourselves to be taken over by our unquestioning self.
~ Marcus Bach
***

What guidance do you wish for?

*Spiritual *
I have been having a dry spell for some time now...
unable to just let go.

Unable to free myself from all the
distractions
excuses
anger
that come between me and God.
***
I've grown tired of the storm that lives in my soul.
I am longing to nourish my faith.

I wish...
To toss the restlessness away.
I wish...
To not carry such a heavy burden...
for my soul to be free to take flight.
I wish...
For the empty space, that feels like a cold draft...
to be filled with grace.
I wish...
To have real peace of mind.
I wish...
To free my heart from daily worries...
to live simple...
give more of myself...
and
expect less.

I long to have... I struggle on... I wish for...
The love and passion my faith once held
and
quenched my soul, that no longer was thirsty!
***

Have a wishful Wednesday!

Paint Paper Paste

Collage Art Journal Project
***

I've started working on a few pages in the journal.
The paper is Fabriano
90g
multicolored
192 plain pages
***

When I was thinking about starting this project,
I wanted to use art materials that I already had available.
That is what lead me to using
a sketch book I had on my book shelf.
***
The paper is made of good quality
and
has texture, which gives it a bit of tooth.
I did notice...
it is fairly thin paper
and does wrinkle with wet media.
This does become a bit of a challenge,
but
I will work through it since I will
be using the pages for collage as the main platform.
This should be interesting!
The one thing I do love about this journal is the size.
An 6" x 8",
which makes is comfortable to carry
and
just the right amount of space to play with!
I have a feeling the art journal is going to become bulky...
I am okay with that, so far.
As I get towards the back of the journal...
things could get interesting!
