Burning The Midnight Oil

:: carving stamps ::

When I just can not sleep and my mine is in overdrive,
Some might find this unusual, while others will agree...
:: carve a stamp ::
I find carving stamps to be very therapeutic.

How do you burn the midnight oil?

  1. I've never tried to carve a stamp. I think I wanna try now!! What do I need? Is there a special tool or just an exacto knife? Sure beats sitting at the kitchen table listening to the early morning world news on ABC (which I do enjoy) and listening to everyone else in the house, including the dogs, snore!!

  2. April, these are really amazing. It is so good to see creative people making their own tools. The art you make with them will seem so special....just love it:)
    I usually read or listen to the radio in the wee small hours if I can't sleep.
    Have a good end-of-week.

  3. Wow, they are fantastic, April. I love the graphic quality. What do you carve into? Erasers or proper carving rubber?

  5. When my mind won't shut off, I'm like Ruth and sometimes get lost in PSE and sometimes I sort/stack/organize - it's mindless and lets my brain slow down. These are some seriously fabulous stamps - I'll be 'stealing' a couple of the ideas!

  10. When I can't sleep I usually go online and browse blogs or Pinterest, or maybe watch something on Netflix...but I can see how carving stamps would be a good idea. I find it very meditative, which reminds me I should get out my carving supplies and get busy. Your stamps are fantastic and have inspired me to do some.
