Carving Out Humanity

:: the sacred heart ::
I grabbed some thin craft foam and carved this drawing directly onto it.
Using a pencil for the illustration and a photo for my example.
Then I cut it out and mounted it onto this tiny block of wood.
A journal spread- my token of humanity...
The Sacred Heart
is one of the most widely practiced and well-known devotions.
This devotion is predominantly used in the Catholic Church.
It emphasizes on love, compassion, and humanity.

I craved out this foam stamp, as a little reminder to myself...
that love and compassion are necessary, if you wish to survive life's little challenges!

Craved By Hand

:: little houses ::
 The mind of an artist.
We have not found a house yet... so, I decided to create my own.
This made me happy!

My advice...
Find your happy place.

Burning The Midnight Oil

:: carving stamps ::

When I just can not sleep and my mine is in overdrive,
Some might find this unusual, while others will agree...
:: carve a stamp ::
I find carving stamps to be very therapeutic.

How do you burn the midnight oil?

Playing With Patterns

My Latest Obsession: CHEVRON PATTERNS

I got out my Speedball-Linoleum-Cutter a white vinyl pencil eraser and carved away!
Of coarse, you can use any vinyl eraser you wish and achieve the same results.
If you have a local dollar store near you, these vinyl erasers come in a pack.
If you are new to carving, then practicing on these are the way to go.

My chevron stamp.

This pattern inspires me...

makes me happy today!

 These tags were created for my "stash" of papers.
I downloaded the FREE chevron pattern from here melstampz.blogspot.com
Honestly, it was one of those projects
I never got around to finishing... until now!
My idea was to punch out tags and incorporate them into my art journaling.
Glad I decided to un-hoard and put the paper to good use.

What pattern inspires you, makes you happy today?

Enjoy.
