tiny makings...

:: altered matchboxes ::
Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.
VINCENT VAN GOGH
Over a delightful afternoon. An altered matchbox project.
As I assembled each one... I put thought into, what I perceived to find important,
to fill my "happy" little homes.
materials used for this project:
mini matchbox - acrylic paint - scrap papers
tacky glue - embellishments
It is very interesting to see what we value within our life, our home.
enjoy.

Into the studio we go...

 a sneak peek!
For the artist, the magical moment is when... the project is complete.
:: altered matchbox ::
This one holds a key to my heart...
a friendship...
with a drawer to nestle sweet little somethings...
perhaps a thingamajig or two!
This altered matchbox was created for a trade.
I so dearly wanted to share it with you all, without spoiling the surprise.
I am so happy and excited...!!!
On just how wonderful, this altered matchbox turned out.
The finished piece... artwork accomplished.
Facing and conquering challenges along the way... enjoying the process...
makes me a happy artist!

Enjoy yourself and indulge in a little art.

Altered Matchbox

On November 1st, I created this painting for an art journal spread.
A journal prompt, hosted by Christy Sobolewski at Art Geeks .
I decided to "reuse" my artwork, to created an altered matchbox.
By reducing the size of the artwork, to fit the proportion of the box,
then I copied it on my inkjet printer.
(you may alter your printed drawing, adding color or design)
STEP 1 -  altering the matchbox.

materials:
1 lager size matchbox
1 photo copy (clipart or original artwork)
cereal box ( cut- out templet for wings)
tacky glue
gesso
acrylic paint
inks
oil pastels
matte medium
scrap papers / vintage book pages
wire
embellishments

STEP 2 - combining all the elements to create this altered piece.

a tribute to honor those who have gone before us.
