Doubt yourself and you doubt everything you see.
Judge yourself and you see judges everywhere.
But if you listen to the sound of your own voice,
you can rise above doubt and judgement.
You can see forever.

What do you wish to rise above?
Doubt
I do not need to be reminded of my limitations.
My body reminds me each and everyday!
The definition of chronic I have full knowledge of...
The meaning of illness I alone, battle with...
Pain, I have taken on, a new respect for.
***
I live with a chronic illness, a battle, which I take on.
One day at a time, I tell myself.
Slow it down, if I need to.
Love and respect myself, knowing I am still me.
Never losing sight...
who I am and what I am capable of.
This illness is what I have, not who I am!
Slow it down, if I need to.
Love and respect myself, knowing I am still me.
Never losing sight...
who I am and what I am capable of.
This illness is what I have, not who I am!
I do not need doubt interfering with my life.
A subtle hint from others, explaining to me...
A subtle hint from others, explaining to me...
Yes, it's not easy, fighting with illness and pain on a daily basis, as I well know, but main thing, we manage it and rise above it! Wishing you lots of strength! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteApril,
ReplyDeleteI understand the daily challenge of dealing with pain. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and CFIDS in my 20s (over 30 years ago) and even through I know its challenges, it has gifted me with knowledge and strength I may never have known.
I wish you strength and peace of mind.
XOXO
As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you as well.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine what you must be dealing with... but with a mindset like that, I'm sure you will still manage to accomplish great things.

Hi April,
ReplyDeleteChronic illness has a way of stealing things away from you, of depleting you of your vital forces, but at the same time, it makes you see things from a perspective that you might never have reached.
As you wish for yourself, I wish for you too.
Sunny hugs from sunny Bordeaux,
Sabrina.
I'm so sorry that you have to deal with pain. That is such a struggle to live with. Huge hugs to you. May you rise about doubt and always know what greatness is inside of you.
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself, so I wish for you as well.

ReplyDeleteOh April, I understand EXACTLY what you are going through with your illness. Trying to live requires much energy. So, we settle with the new "me". The new "me" has learned to love and respect myself." I firmly believe those who have the illness are advanced souls who are here to learn. There are days when I want to scream, "I didn't sign up for this!!!" Then, we retreat into our own corner of the world to nurse the ever present wounds of the illness.
As April wishes for herself, I wish for her also.
What a deep insight you have to deal with doubt or at least voice it. We all doubt ourselves, we do not need others pointing it out. As April wishes for herself, so I wish for her also.
ReplyDeleteI identify with your wish a great deal and I love the quote at the beginning. As April wishes for herself, I also wish for her.
ReplyDeleteAs ou wish so I wish for you. I hope that you are able to rise above your doubt!
ReplyDeleteI love this wish for you. As you wish for yourself, so I also wish for you!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like chronic illness to bring doubt into our lives....but it brings so many gifts too if we can just have a positive attitude and desire to live fully. So beautifully written April :)
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself I wish for you also!
Your illness is NOT you, April! You are soooo much more. Don't forget it. :-) As you wish for yourself so I wish for you also.
ReplyDeleteI'm always so happy to see your link on Jamie's page! You have the best wishes!
ReplyDeleteFor this one, I wish triple for you! Lots and lots of doubt-free days heading to you!
Cheers to that! As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you also!
ReplyDeleteI love that quote - I feel like it sums me up so well. I really loved your post and letting yourself move beyond doubt. As you wish for yourself, so I truly wish for you also.
ReplyDeleteAs April wishes for herself, so I wish for her also.
ReplyDeletebeautifully written, as you wish I too wish with you.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs and wishes for you. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, everyone, for wishing along beside me here today! ((hugs)) :]
ReplyDeleteDoubt is a big one for me too, April. It's so easy to have great, creative ideas run around in my head. The difficult part is to see them come to fruition because so much of the time doubt steps in. As you wish for yourself, I wish for both of us :)
ReplyDeleteI totally understand you, Jane.
DeleteMaybe... we just need to push through!! :]
I stopped by yesterday and was so moved by your first quote I went and shared it on my FB, and must have gotten distracted, and never got back to comment... As you've already read, doubt is a big one for me too. As you wish for yourself, April, so too do I wish for you.
ReplyDeleteSo glad this quote touched you... there is a lot to be said about this one.
DeleteI loved it, it fit perfect into "what I feel, into what to say..." for this wish.
Take care :]
April, i love how you plow through life despite the difficulties and challenges. I am sad to hear of your chronic pain and illness, but so happy to see that you have chosen to soften this pain thru art and find ways to appreciate life after all. You amaze me with the work you do as well... (i mean, a BOOK out of an egg carton?!) Who would THINK of these things?!? You're amazingly creative and i'm so grateful you choose to share your art and yourself with the world. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pauline!
DeleteYou are ever so sweet... ((hugs))
Yes, art is a big healer for me.
So well said, April! As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you as well.
