The Three Wise Men...

 :: let the story be told ::
in this case... "The Three Wise"- paintings of women.
There is no relation to these paintings, for they are not Kings...
but hold the same purpose and traveled the same path.
:: Guided ::
 Following instinct
and looking for a miraculous event from deep within, is what has taken place.
While working on these paintings...
 I was "behind the scenes" planning, creating, designing  something very special.

:: For You! ::

Like The Three Wise Men, offering their precious gifts... so do these paintings.
  • Painting #1 - War Paint
I write about "putting on your face". To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing it's best, to make you follow what they believe is the way...
  • Painting #2 - Dig Deep
I talk about a very personal subject, from deep down inside, "reach out, reach in".
Reaching for my paints as a means of escape, healing myself through art.
To dig so deep... to reach out further that I thought possible and to be able to gain
pure, raw, contentment over simply making art... is absolutely liberating!
  • Painting #3 - I AM
I emphasize on "marching to the beat of my own drum". I do not work at being something I am not... I AM ME. With this in mind, I do not follow the crowd and even tho I have much to share, others are not always interested... unless they are the star of the show.
NO THANK YOU, NOT FOR ME!  I am not in it for the fame, but for the love of art.

:: gifts I bring ::
What are the gifts I offer...?

 :: online "private" community ::
You need a Facebook account to join.
Add your name to the group.
Take a moment to read over the "AGREEMENT"  Doc. under the Files tab at the top.
The Studio is  a "virtual" art community center.

That is the "guts" of this private group.

I wish for you to thrive as an artist within the group,

as well as for this to be a resource hub.
Teaming up, with an incredible artist, so that we can meet the needs of the group.
There is much more to come!
:: THE GRAND OPENING ::
Will take place on the 1st of the New Year.
This gives me a little wiggle room, but you are welcome to sign up now
and get comfortable, meet others, and just say "Hello!".

:: the studio - thriving artist gallery ::
Yes!
If you have art to sell
we want to see it... we want to be supportive... we want to buy it.
Within this supportive community, you will get the chance
to have a "virtual" showing.
Dont know where to begin, how to set things up,
or create beautiful layouts of your work...?
NO WORRIES...
The community is here to help.

:: live chat ::
This is where we get to know each other more personally.
Have art play dates.
Show and tell.

It is going to be incredible... I can not wait!
Yes, this definitely was a "wise" decision.
Looking forward to seeing you in The Studio.

Right out of the box...

:: soap box ::
mini canvas
An Artist's Soap Box Life #2
During the alteration of this soap box,
I decided to completely cover it with aluminum foil.
Great effect!
I really like the ruff, textured look and feel of this one.
materials used to create this project:
soap box
aluminum foil
matte medium
acrylic paint
acrylic inks
corrugated cardboard (heart shape)
 vintage book page (text)
window screen scraps (wings)
silver bead (embellishment)
wire (28 gauge)

I think we're all blessed with gifts and
I was lucky I just found out what mine was early on and
have planted that seed and tried to water it every day.

Into the studio we go...

 a sneak peek!
For the artist, the magical moment is when... the project is complete.
:: altered matchbox ::
This one holds a key to my heart...
a friendship...
with a drawer to nestle sweet little somethings...
perhaps a thingamajig or two!
This altered matchbox was created for a trade.
I so dearly wanted to share it with you all, without spoiling the surprise.
I am so happy and excited...!!!
 On just how wonderful, this altered matchbox turned out.
The finished piece... artwork accomplished.
Facing and conquering challenges along the way... enjoying the process...
makes me a happy artist!

Enjoy yourself and indulge in a little art.

A Series of Mary...

:: Madonna (art) ::
Inspired by Andria
who posted, last month this article on Our Lady of the Sketchbook.
I decided to create my own version of this series.
Perfect for the month of December.
As Christmas approaches us all differently...
I wish to take a deeper, more spiritual approach.
Using art as my platform...
this will allow me to share with you this spiritual path,
which I have chosen to take for the holidays.
I am looking forward to creating this series of paintings
( Mary / Madonna / Mother of Jesus )
and sharing them all with you!
Enjoy

Think Outside The Box...

:: soap box ::
mini canvases
 I realized, I had a collection of soap boxes just waiting to be altered.
The perfect "little something" as a gift to someone special!
***
There are many useful ideas, DIY, and videos
all related to creating something artful with the soap boxes.
You can do your research on the internet, but here are few to get you inspired-
 I have many soap boxes, just waiting for me, on my craft table.
I've decided to do a mini series
 An Artists' Soap Box Life
I can not wait to share these little artful gifts with you...
before they are packaged up and sent on there way!

:: An Artists' Soap Box Life #1::

It is the simplest thought, that becomes the greatest gift.

One Lovely Day...

:: my daughter's wedding ::
Saturday, December 1, 2012
 Once she was my baby girl; love of my life.
But now she is a woman, and is becoming someone's wife.

 A wonderful thing it is; To see her so excited,
So happy to be his.
From golden locks, and lollipops... She grew up straight and tall.
From baby things, to a wedding ring;
How I loved her through it all.
And now she will go forward, to enter married life.
To share the good and bad times,
the happiness, and the strife.
I wish them both, the best of luck; with a prayer that my eyes will see;
That God will Bless them with a baby girl,
Just like he gave to me...
:: Congratulations ::
meet Mrs. Spishak

:: my thoughts ::
 It is in this moment, that I remember just how powerful love is.
