This is not a subject I talk too much about... it's personal.
There isn't a cure and to this very day... there are still many physicians out there
who do not believe or are not willing to treat this chronic illness.
It is widely misunderstood and misdiagnosed!
* Fibromyalgia *
What do I wish for...
Make it go away!
Rid me of this illness... and the imprisonment that this has caused.
Through the years, I have lost more than you think...
A great career.
The ability to do the things, I once loved.
Friendships.
And yes... even family members.
They just do not want to understand!
Fibromyalgia...
Is chronic, widespread pain, muscle spasms, fatigue,
sleep disturbances, anxiety, headaches...
and
the list goes on and on!!
Are we having fun yet?
We look fine on the outside.
If only you knew... the storms we battle.
***
Wishing you all...
a
Happy Healthy Wednesday!
Hope you have a good day. Being creative helps so much to conquer pain, anxiety and problems! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI know what it's like to look good on the outside, but the inside or body is filled with pain. I recognize what you are talking about. It's hard. But the most painful thing is people who won't listen or give respect. :( I know that feeling, too.
ReplyDeleteMuch love to you.
As you wish for yourself, I do deeply wish for you!
I have a good friend with Fibromyalgia, April, so although I can't claim to understand or know, I can at least witness, acknowledge and affirm the truth of your experience.
ReplyDeleteMay the cause be clearly understood sometime in the not too distant future, and may the cure be found quickly afterwards.
As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you.
Blessings - TANJA
Hi April,
ReplyDeleteMy aunt has fybromyalgia and very few people understand her. Some people in my family are like: "Of course, she has that disease. She googled it and found the perfect non-curable disease!". Some people can be so cruel and stupid. I see what she goes through and it's really tough. The body limits, the endless pain, but also people's judgmental comments. I hope that creativity offers you a bit of oxygen sometimes when you truly need it.
As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you.
Cheers from Bordeaux, FR
You sound so strong & fierce, I think that's a great attitude to get you where you want to go.
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself, April, so do I whole heartedly wish for you as well.
{{{hugs}}}
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself, so I wish for you also :)
Keep being strong and fierce. As April wishes for herself, so I wish for her also.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so difficult and you sound like a very courageous woman. I truly hope that you will be granted breaks from the pain and as you wish for yourself I wish for you also.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs, Karina
As you wish so I wish for you. I believe that no matter if there is a name for it or not what you experience is real. It is your experience. I wish you to be free!
ReplyDeleteI share this mysterious monster with you! It is a demon! As you wish for yourself, so I also wish for you... and me.
ReplyDeleteas you wish dear April, I wish for you too! hugs xo
ReplyDeleteApril,
ReplyDeleteI know very little about Fibromyalgia so I thank you for this link! I am so sorry that you've got this to deal with as well as for your losses. I am in awe that with all the pain and discomfort you still do so much, April. I hope that your art and activities give you a reprieve and give you comfort.
April,
ReplyDeleteLast year I thought I was having some major health problems (even got a brain scan) only to find out nothing was wrong. Anxiety has done these things to me. Plays little tricks on my brain. At one point I asked my doctor about Fibromyalgia and she told me there really is no such thing. I didn't believe her and I have enormous sympathy for those who really live this condition all the time but are told that it isn't a real condition. As you wish for yourself, I wish for you too!
Thanks for sharing this with us, April. I wish for you good health and no more pain. Keeping you in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI was once diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue and it turned out I had Celiac Disease. I understand your wish.
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself, I wish for you as well.
Thank you for sharing April. I'm sorry for what you've been having to deal with. I suffer from migraines, depression and anxiety. All internal, badly understood diseases as well. So many times I wish I could just have a broken arm instead--something people could SEE and maybe then they'd understand (or maybe not...). Keep fighting the good fight and take good care of yourself. Big hugs.
ReplyDeleteIn my (nearly 30) years as a Massage Therapist, I have seen many, many people with chronic pain :( &
ReplyDelete'in the early days,' doctors often told them 'it's in your head!' .... I would tell them "I believe you! and yes, your HEAD is where pain gets interpreted, so in a way, that's true .... but I know you are in pain!" & would do my best to relieve it!
When docs finally had a name, Fibromyalgia, I remember thinking THAT's what those clients probably had!
As Kim mentions, there is a STRONG link between gluten (either celiac disease or gluten intolerance) & many, many chronic problems, including Fibromyalgia & anxiety (my daughter, with 'intolerance' was anxiety free about 4 days after we went gluten free! She still battles depression, 2 1/2 years later, but is working with an ND to switch to amino acids to keep THAT at bay)
As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you, & wish that pain becomes a rare visitor, rather than a house guest!! May the Water Dragon, indeed, send it packing!
So sorry to hear that you suffer. (BIG HUG)
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself, so I wish for you also.
((Big hug)) I wish you health, happiness, and the disappearance of your pain.
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself, so I wish for you as well.
I too have fibromyalgia. I have lost the same things that you mention and it can be so frustrating. Who wants to feel this way?? No one would want the constant pain that we feel. I was happy to read your post because it is comforting to know that another person knows how I feel and I also appreciate that you are helping to get the word out so that others can begin to understand what we go thru. Thanks for posting!! :) Here is to hoping that we both have a "good" day! hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your transparency...
ReplyDeleteHuge energetic hug:)
And as you wish for your self, so I too wish for you as well!
Thank you for sharing your medical problems. I also have some of them. It's so hard everyday. You keep me going. You are a sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteI have some close friends with the same problem, so you have my total understanding.
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself, I wish for you as well.
My sister suffers from this. She was lucky enough to find a doctor in the area who knew what it was and helped her learn about it. It's hard watching her go through so much pain. as you wish for yourself, I wish for you as well.
ReplyDeleteI wish for that also, for you and everyone else who suffers from it! Take care!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all wishing alone beside me! ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteI Feel so much love there :]
Thanks for sharing, April! My Mother has something similar so I understand how you just wanting it to go away. I wish you health & happiness! As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you! xx
ReplyDeleteI feel so loved... Thank you all!
