How do you wish to nourish yourself?
***
Happiness radiates like the fragrance from a flower,
and draws all good things toward you.
Allow your love to nourish yourself as well as others.
Do not strain after the needs of life.
It is sufficient to be quietly alert and aware of them.
In this way life proceeds more
naturally and effortlessly.
Life... is here to enjoy!
~Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
***
I wish
Being good to myself.
To treat myself with tender loving care!
To remove any negativity...
that tends to fill those empty spaces.
***
To clear out the closet of doubt...
to make room for growth.
So that I can look beyond
the present and prepare for my future.
***
To remind myself...
that perfection is overrated and unnecessary.
To be willing to know the difference between...
being selfish and being self-caring.
To be aware about my own happiness,
as well as that of others.
***
I wish
To feel whole...
to do what comes naturally.
To embrace the real authentic me.
Tell me...
how do you wish to nourish yourself?
***
Wish away!
Thanks for sharing your lovely thoughts again! Valerie

I think I've said it before but I'll say it again. I find you so inspiring April. I'm going to print out Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's words of wisdom to remind myself not to strain so hard after life's needs.
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself beautiful lady, I too wish for you.
I am so impressed with how you authentically sink into these wishes each week - on the day that they arrive. Your nourishment sounds scrumptious, and I have just devoured every word. Thank you for sharing, and thanks for stopping by the mountain mermaid!
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself, I wish also for you! Hugs!
Thank you all for wishing along beside me! *hugs*
ReplyDeleteA beautiful wish, April - and I love your reminder to yourself that perfection is overrated and unnecessary.
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth, I read an AWESOME post over on Ellie Di's blog about the difference between selfishness and self-centredness (where she defines "selfishness" as "self-caring", and "self-centredness" as what many others would call "selfish"). All in relationship to Star Trek movies, no less.
I don't know if it would help you work out your own boundaries between self-care and selfishness, but if so, the link is http://www.theheadologist.com/2011/11/01/selfishness-the-needs-of-the-one-serve-the-needs-of-the-many/.
As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you!
Wauw... this makes me silent. So beautiful, I really enjoyed reading it. :)
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself, so I wish for you also.
Love the season I am in right now! Beautiful pics April!
ReplyDeletePerfection is over-rated and unnecessary - perfectly put! As you wish for yourself, I wish for you also. x
ReplyDeleteYes - perfection is overrated!! (I'm a Virgo) this is a lovely offering!
ReplyDeleteAs April wishes for herself, so I wish -& sprinkle with fairy dust!
Maharishi Maresh Yogi's words are exactly what I need to remember. Thanks, April.
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself, so I wish also for you.
The difference between selfishness and self-care is something that I'm working on right now. It's frequently difficult for me to understand the difference, so it's interesting to see what other people think. As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you.
